Who We Are

Ignite Music Academy exists to cultivate a love for music in each student, while equipping them with the skills needed to be a confident and capable performer.

We desire to build a community where people can have heaps of fun while learning how to play with others in a positive and safe environment.

We believe MUSIC IS BETTER TOGETHER.

IGNITE Group Lessons (aged 7+)

Here at Ignite, we believe that music is more fun with others and a great way to do this is through group lessons.  Our group lessons have a maximum of five students to allow for optimal learning.  They are a great way to improve musical skills while also making new friends and trying something completely different!  We cater for students aged 7 years and older as we feel that this is the best possible age to start their musical journey.

Students can choose from either Drums, Guitar, Ukulele or Piano. (Please note: if you choose the Guitar option you need be at least 8 years old).  Along with weekly lessons, we encourage our students to participate in our Ignite Music Academy Concerts.   This helps to develop their skills, as well as giving them a sense of achievement and self-confidence.

WHEN:    Weekly half hour lessons during school (term-time only)

WHERE:   In-school (on school grounds)

COST:      $21 per lesson (pay per term in advance)

We have limited spaces for our popular group lessons, so be in quick and sign up now!

Wrist band Progression

IGNITE gives students a real sense of progression with their music. As they progress, students will earn different coloured wristbands. Starting at white, working all their way up to their black band to become the ultimate IGNITE Musician!

So why GROUP lessons?

PLAYING TOGETHER:

CREATES a fun learning environment that is both challenging and enjoyable through creative exploration, off-bench activities, improvisation, composing and playing together as a band or ensemble.

DEVELOPS a strong sense of rhythm and a steady beat. Playing with others and playing along with backing tracks helps students maintain a steady beat and internalise rhythm patterns naturally. They learn to listen to their classmates and stay together as they play.

BUILDS teamwork and community. What better way to develop this important life skill than in a positive and enjoyable learning atmosphere.

REQUIRES both listening and communication skills and teaches students to be active listeners. They also develop the ability to help each other as they are learning new music and growing together.

DEVELOPS focus and concentration. Students hear a sound, see the music, play their instrument, listen to their group members and sense the emotion of the music all at the same time.

PROVIDES an opportunity for students to experience the joy found in making music and becomes one of the most motivating benefits for helping students become lifelong learners of music.
